Mindfulness training for individuals or groups for stress reduction
Mindfulness is about being aware of your body and your mind in the present moment!
There is a growing body of evidence from the United States to support the use of mindfulness as an invaluable tool for busy people leading stressful lives; it is developed from a Buddhist tradition but is used by people of all faiths and none.
Mindfulness can help to develop inner calm. It provides the skill to cope with stress, anxiety , depression and to increase mental agility.
By learning some simple exercises , that do not take long , you can change your relationship with anxiety.

The evidence for the effectiveness of Mindfulness is compelling. For example, it can help to reduce instances of recurrent depression in patients. It can also benefit people with chronic health problems, by reducing their experience of pain.
The clinical research has demonstrated the effectiveness of Mindfulness-based therapies to such a degree that the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) now recommends Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as a treatment for people suffering from recurrent depression.
A number of Mindfulness approaches have been developed to help a range of conditions
including stress, anxiety, chronic pain, eating disorders and addictions.
A study of a Mindfulness-basedStress Reduction (MBSR) course in a US inner-city bi-lingual MBSR clinic reported a reduction in psychiatric symptoms (by 50%), anxiety (by
70%), medical symptoms (by 44%) and a substantial reduction in thenumber of GP visits (Roth and Creaser, 1997). Participants in a workplace MBSR programme study reported a 31% decrease in medical symptoms, a 17% decrease in ‘daily hassles’ and a 31% decrease in psychological distress (Williams,2006). The improvements were even greater at three-month follow-up.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a basic human quality, a way of learning to pay wise attention to whatever is happening in your life that allows you a greater sense of connection to your life inwardly and outwardly.
Mindfulness is also a practice, a systematic method aimed at cultivating clarity, insight and understanding. In the context of your health, mindfulness is a way for you to experientially learn to take better care of yourself by exploring and understanding the interplay of mind and body and mobilizing your own inner resources for coping and growing.
Nearly three decades of scientific research all over the world suggest that training in mindfulness can positively and often profoundly affect participants’ ability to reduce medical symptoms and psychological distress while learning to live life more fully.

Confidentiality and Trust
Therapy is confidential. Knowing this will help you trust your therapist with your problem, so your therapist can help you. Confidentiality is only broken when someone is at risk of harm. Your therapist will give you professional insight, within a consistent and mutually respectful therapeutic relationship. Your therapist will not judge you or tell you how to live your life. For these reasons, many people choose to talk to a therapist rather than someone they know.
